All right, I haven't updated in quite a while and since I can't go to bed until I finish cooking this quiche, I figure I'll update now, then get the quiche out.
First off: School.
My classes for this semester are American Literature I, Public Speaking, Shakespeare: The Mature Plays, and Critical Reading and Writing. It's twelve credit hours and at least a hundred pages of reading per night. It's a little ridiculous. I give my first speech for PS on Tuesday. It's supposed to be an introduction speech, so I'll be talking mostly about writing. We've just gotten past the puritans in AL, for which I thank any and all supreme beings. If I had to read one more story/diary entry thanking god for being a douche-bag, I was going to start stabbing people in the throat.
Second: Work.
I'm working 36 hours a week, running around like a crazy person, burning and cutting myself and still end up leaving feeling like I haven't done enough. I'm working on that. I do a ton of work there, and I try and give myself credit for that, but when I see the nearly-empty cold case as I'm leaving, I feel a little sick.
Third: Therapy.
They're going to try and get me on drugs. I'm supposed to call tomorrow and set up an appointment with the psychiatrist so he can evaluate me. Still not sure I want to go that route, but my other doctor seems to be very much in favor of it, thinking it will do me quite a bit of good with the stress and the lack of sleep and the depression, so it might be a good idea to try it.
Fourth: Writing.
I have had absolutely zero time to work on my novel since school has started. Seriously. Nada. When I'm not working or doing homework or in school, I'm trying to sleep. Tomorrow we're having our author's reception for the people who got published last year (which is what the quiche is for). So I'll be doing that for most of the day. Then homework tomorrow night, then up before sunrise to walk to work on Sunday. Needless to say, I'm exhausted most of the time.
I'm really exhausted right now, and as soon as this quiche is done (it's broccoli quiche and smells delicious...) I'm going to sleep. I'm hoping to get 8 hours (I probably won't, but I'm going to try). Anyway. Better go check the quiche.
I probably won't update again for a little while. Sorry in advance.

first: i hate the puritans too. unfortunately, without them, we wouldn't be here. the slimy self-rightious bastards... wait. that describes about 90% of americans today!
second: stop. remember to breathe. and don't slice your hands off. not in that specific order, mind. also, i discovered a ways back that after a horror day at work (or just a really stressful one) a nice hot soak in the tub does wonders with lavender anything. bubble bath (or dish soap XD), regular soap, body wash, shampoo. it's supposed to be a very calming scent. :)
third: not to pry too much dearie, but other than normal sickly ailments, have you ever been put on drugs for psychological/mental stuff before? the first time is always a bit... it's hard to describe, but yeah. unsure? that might be a good word to use here. anyway, the first time's always a bit iffy. it gets better after that, especially once they figure out what works best for you. doctors always start out on low dosages to see how you react. they prefer to keep people on the lower dosages whenever possible, which is a good thing. also, the evaluation is easy as pie. might ask some random and seemingly unrelated questions, but hey, if it gets the job done, it gets it done. also, whatever they put you on, WIKI THE HELL OUT OF IT!!! it never hurts to know more about what's going into your body. n.n also, it's a great way to get a list of the various trade names, just in case you switch pharmacies for some reason. EX: the crisis center gave me Tegretol, which is a brand name of Carbamazepine (this is the generic). But when I took it to my local wal-mart pharmacy for the $4.00 thing, they gave me Epitol. Which freaked me out so I looked it up, and sure enough, it was just another brand name. Different pharmacies may get it under a different name, so having a handy list is, well, handy! :) The More You Know.... cue cheesy music. XD
fourth: dude! that sucks! but hey, if you can get your hands on a tape or voice recorder (second hand even) then just keep it handy when you want to write, know you should, but don't have the time to do so. just hit record, toss out reminders or recite a whole paragraph to jot down later. OR... well, i've got no other suggestions. n.n' sorries!
lastly..... mmmmmm broccoli...... quiche.....
damnit, now i'm gonna be hungry when i go to bed! XD
@kamikaze_zealot - I was on Paxil when I first got sick, but it wasn't prescribed to me, it was prescribed to my sister, but they took her off of it because it made her sleep all the time.
@Hopeless_Nonsense - ah. that's one of the more mild drugs. my mom was on it, and she slept a lot too. a lot of the drugs for, well, most disorders and mental/psychological stuff tend to have sedatives in them, which make people sleep a bit more, or cause more drowsiness than normal. in most cases, the body adjusts to what it considers excess (or lacking, depending on what the medication is designed to do) and compensates by revving up or slowing down processes that are considered to be going in over/underdrive, which can also lead to the drowsiness. if the side effect persists longer than the normal adjustment period (this depends on what kind of medication it is, and what family of compounds it comes from) then the dosage may need to be adjusted or another medication found.
and now..... i realize that i sound like a fucking information pamphlet. XD!!!
